The Network has this generic event flag which community groups can borrow free-of-charge to help promote community involvement at any of their events.
The flag just says “Community Event. Haere mai! Welcome!” (see image). It creates an eye-catching meeting point and invitation. The flag has a spike or a heavy water base.
Community groups can borrow the Event Flag – it’s 3.9m high – to use at an outdoor event to:
-
Mark a rally or meeting point
-
Encourage community involvement with a planting or weeding event
-
Help people see that an event is taking place
How to book: Find the date of your event in the calendar below. If the flag is available on that date (green) or shown as changeover (orange), complete the simple form below; you will receive an email to confirm that we have received the booking. If you require the flag on a day marked as “changeover”, we will negotiate any need to change the flag between groups booking successive days. First in, first served. After we have confirmed your booking by email, it will then appear on the calendar.
How to collect/return: The assumption is that you will collect the flag and base from 118 St Martins Road, St Martins the day before the event. The flag will be in its bag on the verandah beside the driveway. You will be expected to return the flag immediately after your event to the same place or you may be asked to deliver it to another community group.
