So it is for the river. That means on the Saturday before Mother’s Day, we all get together to clean up along the banks of the river and the estuary.
If you are not already part of a group clearing up in your local area and you wish to help clean up Christchurch’s waterways from carelessly discarded rubbish, below are three ways you can join in...
EITHER join in with Forest and Bird North Canterbury who are organising a clean up along the lower reaches of the river.
Meet at the car park off Ferrymead Park Drive (just before the entrance to the Golf Club) at 9.30am. Follow the signposts from Bridle Path Road, Ferrymead. No need to book, just be there.
Please wear sturdy footwear or gumboots and bring garden gloves.
