What we do
The Predator Free groups provide information, equipment, knowledge, encouragement and a means of recording predator kill to help build an understanding of the distribution of predators in the environment.
Who are we?
The Predator Free groups are people linking their predator trapping skills, knowledge and data in pursuit of the 2050 Predator Free NZ goal.
Location
There are a number of groups operating in the Ōpāwaho Heathcote River catchment. In particular, Predator Free Ōpāwaho is a project of OHRN in which we are endeavouring to place a trapline along each riverbank from Tunnel Road to the headwaters. You can find more details about this project here.
Other Predator Free Groups within the catchment of the river include:
- Predator Free Beckenham
- Predator Free Port Hills – Thorrington
- Predator Free Port Hills – Bowenvale
- Predator Free Port Hills – Huntsbury
- Predator Free Port Hills – St Martins
- Predator Free Port Hills – Hillsborough
- Predator Free Port Hills – Cashmere
- Predator Free Port Hills central-north region – Summit Road Society
